Sweet + Heat BBQ Sauce

Sweet + Heat BBQ Sauce

Did you know that you can make a finger-licking good barbecue sauce from jam? It's true - and it's super easy to do!

The nice thing about homemade sauce is that it can quickly be made from pantry and refrigerator staples - and it tastes so much fresher than the grocery store varieties.

Raven's Nest jams, made with the freshest fruits and that signature "sweet with a little heat" flavor profile, are the perfect addition to your homemade grilling sauce recipe.

While any of our jams would work great, we are loving the Blackberry Jalapeño and the Hot Peach right now. Give this BBQ sauce recipe a try - you won't be sorry!

Sweet + Heat BBQ Sauce

Grilled chicken wings made with jam barbecue sauce

  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Whisk over medium heat until sauce is thickened and smooth, approximately 5 minutes.
  2. Use sauce immediately, or allow to cool and then store in an air-tight jar in the refrigerator.

Sauce can be stored in the refrigerator up to 1 week or 6 months in the freezer.

We spread this tasty sauce over grilled chicken wings for a perfect summer barbecue gathering.

The next day, we shredded the leftover chicken, topped it with more sauce, and made tangy barbecue chicken sandwiches.

This homemade barbecue sauce is delicious poured over a crockpot full of frozen cocktail meatballs for an easy holiday or tailgate party appetizer.

It's so versatile and delicious, we can't wait to try other ways to use it - and adapt it for our other jam flavors.
